Initiative Spotlight

Aral Sea GRIP Project

The Aral Sea ecological crisis has undermined vital ecosystems and the services they provide, threatening the livelihoods of local communities. The Aral Sea GRIP Project, funded and executed by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), will address the impacts of this crisis by assisting in the green rehabilitation of the Karakalpakstan Republic of Uzbekistan. By developing climate-resilient agri-business models and the frameworks to scale them up the project will support disaster-risk reduction, improve food security, and enhance livelihoods and job creation.
